Elkins Construction Update - November 2001
The following is a photo tour of construction on the Elkins section of the Corridor H project. Keep checking this web site for future construction updates.

A view of Polino Contracting Inc.'s construction site where medians are being constructed and shoulders and pavement are being completed. A view of Bilco Construction Company's bridge on Kanawha Stone's project. The next step for the contractor is to pour the concrete deck on the eastbound lane.

Hi-Way Paving Inc. produces the concrete used on all of the projects between Elkins and Kerens. The concrete is produced at its concrete batch plant seen here. J.F. Allen Company constructing medians and shoulders. The contractor is also installing underdrain collector systems.

Looking west onto a bridge being constructed by Vecellio and Grogan. The westbound lane is approximately 75 percent complete. The eastbound lane is approximately 90 percent complete. A curing machine, part of the "paving train" on Vecellio and Grogan's site, assists in finishing the pavement. Inside shoulders will be constructed next, followed by construction of the medians and outside shoulders. A view of Vecellio and Grogan's bridge at Kerens that spans U.S. 219 and County Route 7. The contractor is installing stay-in-place deck forms on both the east and westbound lanes. Once in place, the contractor will pour concrete into the forms.
