The Route - Corridor H (Davis & Thomas)
The Settlement Agreement established new requirements for the segment of Corridor H which will one day provide access for Davis and Thomas to a modern four-lane highway. On the map (see below) you will see that the plan involves the area from Thomas to Hendricks, including historic areas associated with coal mining and coke production in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Change in the original routing of Corridor H could come about if DOH would find an alignment, which is practical and has no more impact on historic areas than the original alignment.

The DOH is now evaluating alignments which would, in general, involve shifting Corridor H just to the north of Thomas, then connecting to WV 93 east of Davis.

This map shows the Blackwater Avoidance Area covered by this Supplemental Environmental Impact Study.
